Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is a British American musician and sitarist, is well known for her songs. She was the first and first woman to receive the British House of Commons Shield she's received 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to perform live on stage and also serve as a presenter at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was an Indian young sitar singer. She is both the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was London in 1982, and the first few years of her life she was split her time between London New Delhi. As a teenager, her first show at New Delhi took place. In 1999, she completed her high school education at Encinitas CA. Anouskha still has a promising music and acting career, even though she's only a teenager. For a long time she has been performing regularly with her father. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years following her debut solo album. She has performed at most famous venues throughout the world. Her career extends beyond music. Bapi: The love of My Live is her 2002 book, which was a tribute Ravi Shankar. In 2003 she starred as a Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka is still progressing in her professional career, and there will be many new things that will be coming from this talented woman. Anoushka Shankar was born in England and spent the majority of her youth living between London and Delhi after which she moved to California where she went to high school. When she was 9, she started studying music alongside her father. The first time she performed on the Sitar was at her 75th Birthday celebration in Delhi in the year following. Anoushka performed with her father throughout his global tour, gained an incredible amount of experience. When she was in her teens, she played at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and recorded alongside George Harrison. Her artistry and musicianship were recognized by British Parliament as being among the top at Asian Arts.
